Meet the Owners

Matthew and Morgan Shultz

In Shingle Springs, California, Matthew and Morgan grew up in an ambitious and imaginative household. The two brothers, who were both extremely clever and hard-working, were capable of achieving success in any industry they chose. Their research revealed a void in the market for septic tank pumping services. This prompted an idea, and in May of this year, they founded Western Slope Septic Pumping, Inc. after months of research and training. Each and every day is unique and never the same," he adds. 'We love it,' says Matthew, 'we have met so many amazing people.'

In addition to using the most up-to-date sewage pumping technology, Western Slope Septic has all new equipment. Their truck is stunning, too, if you haven't already seen it. "We're in this for the long haul," says Morgan, so starting with brand new equipment and cutting-edge technology was important. This is a brand-new Peterbilt 337 from model year 2022. A one-of-a-kind piece of art is all that exists in the county. We can operate the vacuum system using a wireless remote control that communicates with the vehicle. Matthew continues, "We can switch on all systems and begin pumping right from the septic tank."

It's all new equipment at Western Slope Sewage Pumping, Inc., which offers the most up-to-date septic pumping technology.

How crucial is this feature? This is due to the fact that using a wireless control makes pumping much faster and easier. If everything goes according to plan and there is no foreign material in the tank that could clog the line, our truck can pull onto the jobsite and be out in 30 minutes." As an added benefit, we'll know exactly how full our truck is before we leave for the landfill," explains Matthew. In most cases, the older trucks are manually operated, which means that you must physically open or close the valves to start the machinery. In our truck we just hook everything up and turn it on," Morgan says about the septic system.

Matthew and Morgan, the owners of Western Slope Septic Pumping, are both Certified Septic System Inspectors. In addition to pumping, they also put in risers and perform inspections. Tank entry is made a whole lot easier thanks to these plastic rings that boost the tank's entrance. The lawn can be mowed as usual, and reaching the port for pumping or inspecting the tank for cracks, roots, and foreign items will need just minimal effort.

How often should you be pumping? On the basis of usage and tank capacity, it can vary. It's usually best to have it done every three years for a single individual with a 1,000-gallon tank, but they could wait even longer. Waiting a long time for a large family is not ideal. Depending on how many people live in a home, and the tank's capacity, solids will fill up the tank more quickly or slower. A 1500-gallon tank is not uncommon, but it's rare, according to Matthew.

Other than their integrity and exceptional customer service, Western Slope's is a standout among others. It's our goal to get the job done accurately and thoroughly each and every time." Rather of scrimping on quality, we choose to do what is right. "We've had clients witness how we do business, and they often comment on the wonderful level of care and service we provide," says Morgan.

Maintaining the proper functioning of an existing septic tank can be done in various ways. "Bleach is not recommended since it kills bacteria. Allow the bacteria to do their job of decomposing solid waste while maintaining a favorable environment for their growth. "We usually leave a small amount of sludge at the bottom of the tank when we pump to keep some bacteria in there," explains Matthew. In addition, the leach field might become clogged with non-biodegradables. Toilets should not be used as a place to dispose of wipes. They don't go down in flames or anything like that. Our truck can become clogged with wipes if we don't remove them one at a time. A clogged landfill isn't a fan of wipes either. According to Matthew, "the dump workers have to come out and pull out the wipes."

It's time to pump your tank if it has been more than three years since your previous pumping, you've been working from home, your children have been learning online, or you've had long-term visitors.
